First and foremost, Donald Trump faced formal indictment by special prosecutor Jack Smith, and I had the opportunity to delve into the entire indictment. Well, when I say ‘read,’ I actually mean I listened to Ali Velshi of the Prosecuting Donald Trump podcast meticulously recite every word of the indictment. No opinions, no analysis, just a straightforward reading.
The indictment itself was damning, but I can’t help but wonder if the prosecution will be able to provide sufficient evidence to support the charges. On one hand, they portray Donald Trump as a reckless buffoon, storing highly sensitive state secrets in his bathroom. However, in the next charge, he is described as a cunning special agent dispatching his henchmen to meticulously rearrange boxes and outsmart hapless lawyers. I eagerly await the forthcoming arguments.
We also delved into South Africa’s energy crisis, discussing its causes and potential solutions. Personally, I find it difficult to believe that this crisis could be anything other than corruption-driven. Those responsible pocketed the money and left the country deteriorating into a post-apocalyptic dystopia, with 16-hour blackouts becoming the norm.
In addition, we examined the resignation of Boris Johnson, which has been quite intriguing. It has been enlightening to learn about British politics and the individuals involved. From a distance, Boris Johnson seemed to be a respectable conservative leader, but these recent events have left me feeling embarrassed, not just for Boris Johnson, but for Britain as a whole. To add fuel to the fire, the report on his conduct during the COVID inquiry was released the same week, turning the entire saga into a circus.
We had no shortage of fascinating topics to discuss, and as a result, our podcast ran for nearly three hours this week! We hope you enjoy listening!
